Mealime shuts down on October 21, 2026
Your Mealime plan stops working this week. Here is where to put next week's.
Mealime announced it is discontinued as of October 21, 2026. If you used it to decide dinners, get a grocery list and cook without a cookbook open, those three things work here, free, in cups and ounces.
What carries over, and what does not
| What you did in Mealime | Here |
|---|---|
| Pick dinners for the week | Free meal planner: put recipes on the days of the week. |
| One grocery list for the week | Free. Quantities from every planned recipe are added up and sorted by aisle (produce, dairy, meat, pantry...). |
| Cook step by step | Free cooking mode: one step on screen, built-in timers, the step people usually get wrong flagged before you reach it. |
| “What can I make with this?” | Type what is in the fridge, get a recipe in US measurements. 3 a month free, more with Pro. |
| A ready-made weekly plan | Pro: seven dinners for your household placed in the planner, with the shopping list already built. |
| Your saved recipes and history | No import. Copy the ones you want to keep before October 21. |
| Phone app | No store app. The site runs in the phone browser. |
Moving in fifteen minutes
- Before October 21, open Mealime and copy the recipes you cook often: ingredients and steps. Screenshots work too.
- Create an account. No card.
- Add those recipes as your own, or start from the 22 English recipes already on the site.
- Put next week's dinners in the planner and open the shopping list it builds.
What it costs
The planner, shopping lists and cooking mode stay free. Pro is $4.99 a month or $39 a year and adds the generated weekly menu, Kitchen SOS while something is going wrong on the stove, and up to 30 fridge recipes a day. Details on the pricing page.
Converting a recipe from grams or milliliters? The kitchen conversion charts cover cups, tablespoons and ounces for the common ingredients.
Questions from Mealime users
Is Mealime really shutting down?
Yes. Mealime announced that the service is discontinued as of October 21, 2026. Its meal planning lives on only inside the Albertsons Companies grocery apps (Safeway, Albertsons, Vons and their sister stores).
Can I import my Mealime recipes or plans?
No. There is no import tool. Before the shutdown, open each saved recipe you care about and copy the ingredients and steps; you can add them back as your own recipes once you have an account here.
Is the planner free?
Yes. The meal planner, the shopping lists and cooking mode are free and ask for no card. Pro ($4.99 a month or $39 a year) adds the generated weekly menu, Kitchen SOS and fridge recipes without the monthly cap.
Is there a phone app?
Not a store app. The site works in the phone browser, and cooking mode keeps one step on screen at a time with its timer.
Are the recipes in US measurements?
Yes. The English recipes and everything the tools generate use cups, tablespoons, ounces, pounds and Fahrenheit.
